Our resident Intuitive Soul and Healer, Sarah Morton reminds us how to reconnect to the soothing energy of trees.
1. Choose the Right Tree
Find a tree that you feel naturally drawn to. It could be one you’ve admired for a long time or a tree that gives off a strong presence when you approach it.
2. Approach with Respect
Before engaging, greet the tree mentally or verbally. A simple “Hello” or “May I connect with you?” shows reverence.
3. Observe and Feel the Energy
Stand or sit near the tree and take a moment to breathe deeply. Observe its details—bark texture, leaves, movement in the wind. Notice any subtle feelings, emotions, or thoughts that arise.
4. Physical Connection
Place your hands on the trunk or sit with your back against it. Some prefer to embrace the tree, while others lightly touch the leaves or roots.
5. Silent Communication or Meditation
Close your eyes and quiet your mind. You can mentally introduce yourself, express gratitude, or ask a question. Be open to receiving messages through intuition, sensations, or imagery.
6. Offer Something in Exchange
If you feel a response or connection, consider leaving a small offering—water, a song, a prayer, or even your gratitude. Avoid anything unnatural like plastic or processed items.
7. Listen and Reflect
Messages from tree spirits might not be immediate or verbal. They may come in dreams, sudden insights, or changes in perception.

8. Return and Build a Relationship
Just like with people, relationships with tree spirits grow over time. Visit the tree regularly and continue your practice of connection.
